WRECA’s positions on legislative and regulatory issues at both the national and state levels are set by the WRECA Board of Directors. The WRECA members communicate on a regular basis with policymakers in Olympia and Washington, DC to educate them about the impact of state and federal laws and regulations on the electric cooperatives and their member-consumers. At the federal level, this communication is coordinated with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

Each year, the WRECA Board of Directors adopts Legislative Objectives which are communicated to policymakers. These Legislative Objectives outline the association’s positions on issues that directly impact the association’s members and the electric cooperatives’ member-consumers.
