Grass Roots Programs Are Your Opportunity to Make a Difference!

There are three major grass roots programs for the members of Washington's electric cooperatives and electric mutual companies.  Each program is designed to keep you informed of the political and regulatory activities at the state and federal level which directly impact your electric cooperative.

Washington's Electric Ambassadors

Electric Ambassadors are co-op members just like yourself, who have joined together to support Washington's electric cooperatives.   Through the Electric Ambassador program, co-op members across Washington have an organized, focused opportunity to communicate their views and concerns about future electric rates to elected officials and policy makers at the state and federal levels. It's free to our members, and you are never under any obligation. To sign up, fill in the information requested and we'll add you to the ever-growing list of cooperative members who are ready to make a difference.

People Power for the Northwest Cooperative Members!

Do you live in the Pacific Northwest? Do you get your electricity from a consumer-owned utility, such as a mutual, cooperative, people's/public utility district or municipal? Are you concerned about your cost of power? Then you should join People Power, the grass roots organization for the Pacific Northwest whose mission is to educate and encourage grassroots contact by customers of Northwest consumer-owned utilities with Congress, federal and regional agencies about issues impacting electric rates.  For more information and to sign up, go to the People Power website.

The Take Action Network is Your National Grass Roots Organization!

The Take Action Network allows you to make your voice heard in the halls of the U.S. Congress and in Washington State Legislature. Not only is it your right to tell your legislators what you think about proposed legislation, it is also your duty!  Communication is a major component of advocating what is in the best interest of you and the other members of your cooperative. Sending your member of Congress or the Legislature an email on an important issue affecting your cooperative is a great way to keep your senators and representatives informed. The Take Action Network, sponsored by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, is a website where you can do that quickly.  You simply log in, and write your message.  The Take Action Network takes care of making sure your message is forwarded to the appropriate senators and your representative.  So visit the Take Action Network - learn about the issues pending before Congress that directly affect your electric cooperative.  Then, let your voice be heard!
